Expansion of Thoracic Program will Broaden Patient Care

BRIGHTON – June 1, 2016 – Renowned thoracic surgeon John C. Wain, MD, has joined St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center as the Division Chief of Thoracic Surgery and Vice Chairman of the Department of Surgery. Dr. Wain joins St. Elizabeth’s, a member of Steward Health Care, from a long career at Massachusetts General Hospital.

“The addition of Dr. Wain to St. Elizabeth’s Department of Surgery will not only broaden the scope of treatments available to our patients but significantly complement the work being done by the Pulmonary Division and the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center,” said Beth Hughes, president of St. Elizabeth’s.

Dr. Wain is a world-renowned thoracic surgeon who has been on the faculty of MGH and the faculty of Harvard Medical School for more than 20 years.
