Hearing Loss

Are you having difficulty hearing? Do you have difficulty hearing in background noise? Do your loved ones complain that you set the television too loud or that they have to repeat themselves?

Hearing loss can be a complex medical condition whether it is congenital, age-related or from a traumatic injury. Our audiologists are experienced with the many types of hearing loss, including sensorineural, conductive, and mixed. They will work with you to determine a solution for the best quality of life.

The audiologists at St. Elizabeth’s will evaluate your hearing and determine the need for additional testing, medical follow-up, or if you may be a candidate for hearing aids or other assistive listening devices. Our audiologists use state-of-the-art equipment and testing, which is available for patients as young as one day of age.

Programs include:

  • Tinnitus Management: Tinnitus, or noise from the ears, can be bothersome for some, and even debilitating if the tinnitus becomes severe. Tinnitus is most commonly caused by hearing loss, but can sometimes also be a sign of a medical condition.

  • Hearing Aid Services: The Hearing Aid Center at Steward St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and highly trained audiologists who are experts at managing your hearing loss.

•    Newborn Hearing Screening Program

Balance Disorders

Balance Assessment: Do you feel dizzy or off-balance when you get out of bed, bend over to tie your shoe, or when you walk down the hallway? Review our Vestibular Evaluation to determine if you may need a balance assessment.
