St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center Department of Radiology received full accreditation from the American College of Radiology. The department was commended for “exceptional work,” and fully accredited in MRI for all five specialty areas: breast, neuro, body, musculoskeletal and cardiac. Very few hospitals or imaging centers have this level of accreditation.
St. E’s CT holds full ACR accreditation, too, and the Division of Nuclear Medicine is fully accredited by the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC) | Nuclear/PET.
“At St. E’s, our Department of Radiology is committed to providing the highest quality service and meeting the highest standards in the industry,” said Radiology Chairman Sanjay K. Shetty, MD, MBA. “Our board-certified radiologists are dedicated to employing the latest technology in the service of our patients, and our department's exam quality was ranked at the highest level. These accreditations are testament to our entire team's focus on quality and safety.”
Since 1987, ACR has accredited more than 20,000 facilities, including more than 10,000 practices in ten different imaging modalities. The ACR offers programs in all modalities now mandated for accreditation under the Medicare Improvements for Patients and Providers Act.
