Neuromuscular Disorders

St. Elizabeth’s is known throughout New England for exceptional clinical expertise in diagnosing and treating complex neuromuscular disorders. These include myasthenia gravis, Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS), chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP) and other autoimmune and diabetic polyneuropathies, as well as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), among others.

Our neuromuscular specialists are board-certified neurologists who serve on the faculty of the Tufts University School of Medicine. They treat patients with the compassionate care for which this hospital is known.

Our Myasthenia Gravis Clinic, one of the largest in the state, offers leading edge treatment for this muscle weakening disease. It is headed by David H. Weinberg, M.D., a specialist often named best in Boston by Boston Magazine.

Our Peripheral Nerve Clinic, run by Kenneth Gorson, M.D., is renowned for expert diagnosis and effective treatment of polyneuropathy and other disorders of the peripheral nerves. Our specialists have brought relief to thousands of patients suffering from these painful, often disabling conditions.
