St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center's new state-of-the-art 24,000-square-foot intensive care unit (ICU), housed in The William F. Connell Pavilion, offers 23 private rooms to better care for our most critically-ill patients. The ICU brings together St. Elizabeth’s Respiratory Intensive Care Unit, its Surgical Intensive Care Unit and Coronary Care Unit under one new, modern roof.
Providing exceptional patient-focused care is top priority in the ICU. With the addition of eICU services, we now bring physician as well as nursing coverage, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to every bedside in St. Elizabeth’s. Patients in our ICU are continually monitored with the advanced eICU technology at a remote monitoring center located in Westwood, Mass. Overall, eICU increases improved quality by adding an additional layer of care for patients. The average length of stay is reduced, and patient outcomes are improved. eICU is a proven complement to the high quality care already provided by St. Elizabeth’s on-site ICU physicians and nurses.
