Kevin Hannifan, President
Kevin is a world class health care leader having most recently served as the Chief Operating Officer for the Tisch and Rusk Hospital, a 750 bed academic medical center and 150 bed rehab hospital respectively. Both hospitals are part of the world renowned New York University Langone Medical Center.
Previously Kevin had served as Chief Executive Officer at Hartford Hospital, Methodist Hospital in Philadelphia and Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia. Kevin started his career in Boston at Brigham and Womens’ Hospital after graduating from Duke University with a Masters in Health Administration. A graduate from Catholic University with a B.A in Economics, Kevin served with distinction in the United States Marine Corps.
Terry Garfinkle, MD, MBA, Vice President of
As vice president of Medical Affairs at
St. Elizabeth’s, Dr. Garfinkle oversees
Quality and Safety, the Medical Staff
Office and Medical Staff Library. In
addition, he serves as a member of our
Senior Leadership Team and Medical Staff
Executive Committee, among others.
Dr. Garfinkle brings to St. Elizabeth’s exceptional experience in blending the best of academic medicine and community-based care. He has proven leadership and collaboration skills, a demonstrated commitment to quality care and patient safety and track record of business building success.
Dr. Garfinkle received his BS from the University of Pennsylvania and his MD from George Washington University School of Medicine. He completed his residency and training in otolaryngology at the University of Pennsylvania and his MBA from the George Washington University School of Business and Public Management.
Michelle Fey, MS, RN Interim Chief Nursing
Officer, St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center
Michelle is St. Elizabeth’s interim Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) and is responsible for leading the nursing staff and all patient care services at St. E’s. Michelle will continue to serve as the Vice President of Clinical Operations for Steward Health Care where she is responsible for overseeing clinical practice issues throughout the 11-hospital system to enhance quality and efficiency system-wide.
Michelle has served as the interim CNO at both Carney Hospital and previously at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center. Prior to her roles within Steward Health Care, Michelle served as Clinical Director of Cardiovascular Surgery at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston where she supervised all areas of clinical practice for cardiac and vascular surgery. Michelle is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts where she received her both her Master’s and Bachelor’s in Nursing.
Jeffrey P. Dion, Vice President of Finance
Jeff oversees all budget functions and manages all aspects of accounts, payroll, general accounting and revenue cycle. He serves on the St. Elizabeth's Senior Leadership Team. Prior to St. Elizabeth's, Jeff worked at Marlborough Hospital
and in the UMass Memorial Health Care system for 14 years. After holding positions of increasing responsibility over more than a decade, Jeff served the last three years as chief financial officer at Marlborough Hospital where he played a significant role in the hospital’s financial turn around. Jeff, who earned his BA in Economics at Dartmouth College and MBA at Duke University, understands the financial landscape of health care and how community hospitals can best meet those challenges.
Gail Flynn, SPHR, Director, Human Resources
Gail oversees all areas related to the Human Resources function at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center including recruitment, compensation and employee benefits, employee relations, regulatory compliance and organizational development. Gail has more than 20 years experience in Human Resources. Prior to her tenure at St. Elizabeth's, Gail has worked within Steward Health Care and has also served in various senior level roles at organizations including Reebok International, Domain Home, Dunkin' Brands and Filene's.
Gail earned her BS from the University of Massachusetts.
Jennifer Kovalich, Director of Strategic Communications
As the director of Strategic Communications, Jennifer oversees the hospital’s internal and external communications, including marketing, public relations and media. She joined St. Elizabeth’s after working at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton, a sister hospital in the Steward Health Care Network.
Jennifer, who is a graduate of the S. I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University, brings a vast array of experience to her role. Before joining the healthcare industry she enjoyed a career as an award-winning journalist working at daily newspapers in southeastern Massachusetts and upstate New York.
