Bikur Cholim

St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center, a Steward® Family Hospital and teaching hospital affiliated with Tufts University School of Medicine, is proud to be the first hospital in Boston and Massachusetts to open a Bikur Cholim room, within the Greater Boston Eruv, to better serve our observant and Orthodox Jewish patients and their families.

The Bikur Cholim Room at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center was made possible through partnership with ROFEH International of Brookline and the generosity of Wingate Healthcare of Needham. Read our announcement.

St. E’s Bikur Cholim Room is on Seton 6 East:

  • Central location accessible by stairs
  • Comfortable furniture
  • Siddurim, Chumashim and additional religious items
  • Kosher microwave and refrigerator
  • Kosher food provided by The Butcherie of Brookline

For our observant Jewish patients, St. Elizabeth’s:

  • Provides kosher meals
  • Does not require signatures when Jewish law prohibits writing
  • Entrances and exits passable on Sabbath (See campus map.)
